Profile required:
The research involves crop modelling in Africa using the GLAM model in collaboration with Dr. Challinor (Leeds). Experience in developing, running and using output from atmospheric forecast models and/or dynamic crop models is an advantage, but most important is a strong physical sciences background and an equally strong enthusiasm to work on a project collaborating with colleagues in Africa (travel to Africa is expected during the project).

Boston University
invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship in terrestrial carbon cycle science, with a Fall 2009 start date.
Details:
Specific potential research foci include (but are not limited to) measurement and/or modeling of land-atmosphere carbon fluxes, studies of coupled water and carbon dynamics in terrestrial ecosystems, the impact of humans on regional to global carbon budgets, linkages between terrestrial carbon and nitrogen cycles, and the use of remote sensing for carbon cycle science.
